Job summary

The University of Kansas seeks a Facility Manager to act as the primary facilities liaison for assigned campus buildings. You will ensure safe, efficient daily operation supporting teaching, research, and student life.

You will coordinate with various campus units, manage space, compliance, and asset control, and communicate effectively with occupants and stakeholders. This role reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities Services and requires operation of KU-issued vehicles.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 9+ years facilities management experience or BA/BS with 5+ years facilities management experience.
• Strong written communication skills demonstrated through application materials.
• Experience working in customer-facing or service-oriented roles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine interior and exterior building inspections for maintenance, custodial, safety, and operational issues.
• Document deficiencies and track work requests in the university's CMMS (Maximo).
• Coordinate with Facilities Services trades and monitor preventive maintenance.
• Identify emerging facility needs and propose solutions for performance and health.
• Serve as the primary Facilities Services representative for assigned buildings.
