Job summary

The Pegasus School seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the care and operation of our 14‑acre campus in Huntington Beach, ensuring safe, functional, and welcoming facilities.

Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for People and Operations, this role supervises maintenance staff and external partners, manages capital projects, and collaborates on budgeting and safety—driving long-term stewardship.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in facilities/plant operations or related field.
• Experience supervising employees and managing outside vendors.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and make sound operational decisions.
• Experience reviewing vendor proposals and contracts.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of campus facilities.
• Supervise Pegasus facilities employees and manage outside service providers.
• Coordinate maintenance, custodial, grounds, security, and building systems tasks.
• Plan and executive capital projects and renovations.
• Ensure safety, budget adherence, and alignment with school leadership.
