Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Facility Manager to oversee daily operations and maintenance of a school facility, leading the custodial and porter teams to ensure a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for students and staff.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong building systems knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with a principal, teachers, and administrators to maintain operations and respond to maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Experience supervising custodial or facilities staff.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot building issues and lead projects.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to obtain FLSD certification within timeframe.
• Knowledge of K-12 school facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the school building.
• Perform routine inspections of classrooms, offices, mechanical rooms, common areas, restrooms, and exterior areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform general repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, doors, locks, and other building systems.
• Coordinate with outside vendors; obtain quotes and monitor contractor work.
• Supervise custodial and porter teams; assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with applicable policies.
• Support school events and coordinate facility needs around the academic schedule.
