Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Nashville, TN, seeks a Senior Chief Engineer to lead facilities operations and engineering services for Tennessee State University. You will oversee daily campus systems, guide a team of engineers, manage budgets, and collaborate with university leadership to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, advancing preventive programs, and managing capital

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in facilities management, engineering, or building operations
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience leading engineering or maintenance teams
• Valid Chief Engineer license or equivalent certification or ability to obtain within timeframe
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems
• Experience using CMMS
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, building codes, and environmental compliance

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems across campus facilities
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance staff with a safety-focused culture
• Manage energy management initiatives and sustainability opportunities
• Coordinate renovation, construction, and capital projects to ensure quality and timely completion
• Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets, maintenance schedules, and reports
• Serve as liaison between JLL and university stakeholders and support emergency response activities
