Job summary

The Principia in Elsah, IL seeks a Manager of Hospitality and Events to oversee day-to-day campus events, guest services, conference support, and hospitality functions including the Guest House. You will coordinate logistics, supervise event staff, and ensure excellent guest experiences in alignment with institutional standards.

Reporting to the Director of Events & Hospitality, you will collaborate with Student Life, Facilities, Dining Services, and other campus offices, lead a student

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in event operations, hospitality, or related fields.
• Experience supervising staff and/or student employees preferred.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and project coordination skills.
• Experience working in higher education, hospitality, nonprofit, or mission-driven environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics for campus events, conferences, meetings, and programs.
• Lead on-site operations for facilities, catering, tech, transportation, and staffing.
• Support major events like Commencement, Convocation, Family Weekend, Orientation, Homecoming.
• Supervise student event staff and coordinate with departments.
• Maintain event records, budgets, and vendor coordination.
