Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Event Specialist for the Carolina Union to ensure a high level of customer service for events and conferences held on campus throughout the year.

You will support the maintenance, inventory, and delivery of lighting, audio, and projection gear for 2 dedicated venues, 26 meeting rooms, and related off-site programs. You will supervise student staff and collaborate with Event Managers via the 25Live scheduling system and email.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional event support, preferably in higher education.
• Proficiency with 25Live or similar event management software and Microsoft 365.
• Experience in a student union or comparable environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Knowledge of event management principles; familiarity with audio, lighting, projection.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure a high level of customer service for events and conferences.
• Support maintenance, inventory, and delivery of lighting, audio, and projection gear.
• Coordinate with Event Managers to ensure successful event support.
• Supervise and train student event staff.
• Communicate via 25Live, email, and meetings about event updates.
