Job summary

The University of Houston is seeking a Student Center Specialist to provide exceptional set-up and event support across the Student Center, SC Satellite, and related facilities. You will assist with event setup, manage room equipment supplies, and help ensure spaces are kept clean and ready for guests.

This role requires vigilance with room temperatures and lighting, and involves supervising the Student Event Set-Up Crew.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of directly job-related experience.
• Second shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm) with evenings and weekends.
• Ability to perform light custodial tasks and manage basic room setup.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up for scheduled events in the Student Center and related facilities.
• Assist with cleaning of meeting rooms and event spaces, including light custodial tasks.
• Check and replenish supplies for room equipment.
• Monitor room temperatures, door access and lighting within assigned areas.
• Assist with placement of printed room cards for events.
• Supervise and train the Student Event Set-Up Crew as needed.
• Identify and report repairs or replacements for furnishings or equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
