Job summary

Albany State University seeks a Director of Emergency Management to develop and implement campus-wide safety plans, policies, and procedures. You will lead emergency operations, coordinate training and drills, and liaise with local agencies to ensure compliance with Clery Act and NIMS.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in Emergency Management, with preferred higher education experience. This is a full-time, on-site position at Albany State University’s Albany campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Emergency Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates the University Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and conducts vulnerability assessments.
• Coordinates campus-wide preparedness activities, training programs for staff, and simulations (e.g., active shooter drills).
• Directs the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during crises, coordinates with campus security, and handles post-disaster damage assessments.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; acts as the primary liaison with fire, police, and emergency management agencies.
• Manages emergency communication systems and develops educational materials for students/staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
