Job summary

The University of Central Missouri is seeking a Dispatcher to manage emergency and non-emergency communications across campus, including radio, phone, and in-person requests. You will act as Office Manager for the dispatch unit, maintain alarms and keys, monitor security systems, and coordinate with law enforcement and public safety partners.

Experience in police dispatch and MULES/NLETS knowledge is preferred; the role includes training and a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year police dispatch experience preferred.
• MULES certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives emergency and non-emergency requests by telephone, radio, and in person.
• Monitor radio communication on multiple frequencies and respond promptly to traffic.
• Coordinates and dispatches on/off campus Law Enforcement, Fire, Safety, Emergency aid personnel, and other resources to respond to calls and alarms.
• Utilizes Computer-Assisted Dispatch system (CAD) to take initial information for police reports, assign police officers, track progress of calls, and to document and note actions taken during incidents.
• Operate a multiple line telephone system including Telephony (TTY).
• Dispatch Safe Team, Parking Enforcement, and other personnel as requested and/or needed.
