Job summary

University Housing Dining & Culinary Services at UW–Madison is seeking a Cook to join our team. Responsibilities include food production, batch and cook-to-order preparations, in a high-volume student residential dining setting.

The role requires at least 1 year in a professional kitchen and a ServSafe certificate (or ability to obtain within 6 months). High School diploma preferred; in-person campus work with rotating shifts and weekend coverage. Benefits and meal perks apply.

Qualifications

• 1 year of food production experience in a professional kitchen setting
• ServSafe Food Handler Certificate or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
• Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Trains and guides student workers
