  • Provide training to employees.
  • Assist with maintaining records for customer counts, revenues and labor costs, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with other dining units to ensure continuity and productivity.

Job description

The Dining Supervisor is responsible for the general first‑line oversight of a particular dining function or location work shift. Decisions made are operational in nature and within guidelines that have been established by senior management. Ensures established guidelines and procedures are followed by subordinates. Takes responsibility for work performed by assigned staff. Directly and actively participates in the production of a superior guest experience. Conducts business with high ethical standards. Uses discretion with business and personnel information.

Responsibilities
  • Hands‑on operational and shift management as a team leader for the successful execution of the assigned dining unit's plan of action.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality standards, deadlines, and procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry standards and procedures.
  • Oversee staff performance and actively expedite proper customer service, safe food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Provide all employees with guidance and training in performing their required tasks.
  • Correct course of action as necessary and provide job performance feedback.
  • Assist with the maintenance of records for customer counts, revenues and labor costs, food production, employee time and attendance, and orders inventory as necessary or assigned.
  • Collaborate with other dining units to ensure continuity and productivity.
  • Assist with staff interviews and employee selection to meet the needs of the dining unit.
  • Participate in professional workshops, campus meetings, and training sessions.
  • Assume additional projects or assignments as directed by the Dining Manager or Assistant/Associate Director.
  • Perform other duties within Dining or the University as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Florida Driver’s License.
  • Initial required courses: Active Shooter Response, Computer Security, Discrimination Free Workplace, Violence in the Workplace.
  • Annual required courses: Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace, Emergency and Fire Preparedness, Hazard Communication, Portable Fire Extinguisher Safety, Sexual Harassment for Employees, Slips, Trips, and Falls.
  • ServSafe Certification (Trained in house).
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in the area of expertise.
