Chartwells Higher Education, part of Compass Group USA, seeks a Food Service Director of Operations for the University of Chicago. The role oversees day-to-day operations, contract adherence, health dept. regulations, and quality standards across a large multi-unit campus dining location.

Relocation assistance is available. You will lead budgeting, staff development, financial reporting, and client relations to deliver exceptional dining experiences at the university.

Qualifications

• Five years of foodservice management experience required.
• Higher Education experience in board and retail operations is required.
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is required.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
• ServSafe Certified is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Formulates budgets and plans for the operation.
• Maintains standards of quality in all areas of the foodservice operation.
• Ensures compliance with regional and account programs and policies.
• Accountable for accurate reporting for the account.
• Maintain client and customer happiness by ensuring food quality and customer service standards.
• Supervise hiring, training, and development of staff to uphold excellence in service and food quality.
• Prepare and complete daily, weekly, and financial reports including food and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards to protect customers.
• Build strong client relationships to align programs with objectives, driving happiness and retention.
• Perform other duties to support efficient dining operations.
