Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services seeks an experienced Catering Executive Chef to lead all culinary functions supporting the University of Chicago’s off‑premise catering business. This role reports to the Catering Director and drives culinary excellence, cost controls, and client satisfaction while growing the catering program.

Qualifications

• Hands-on chef with strong leadership and training skills.
• Experience managing culinary teams and catering operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan regular and modified menus per guidelines.
• Train kitchen staff in food prep, safety, and equipment use.
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and areas.
• Monitor inventory and purchasing to meet needs within guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations and audits.
• Support client satisfaction and cross‑functional collaboration.
