Bon Appetit is seeking an experienced and collaborative General Manager to lead campus dining operations at Carthage College. You will oversee all aspects of the dining program, ensuring operational excellence, financial stewardship, guest experiences, and strong team engagement.

The ideal candidate brings direct higher education dining experience and understands residential dining, retail dining operations, catering, student engagement, and campus partnerships.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in higher education dining environments.
• Experience managing residential, retail and catering dining.
• Budgets, forecasting, P&L, food and labor costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse team of managers and frontline associates.
• Create an engaging environment with learning and recognition.
• Conduct meetings, performance discussions and training programs.
• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Foster relationships with campus leadership, students, faculty and guests.
• Partner with campus administration to align dining with institutional goals.
• Ensure hospitality standards and service excellence across all dining operations.
• Collaborate with culinary teams to develop menus aligned with client expectations.
• Respond to guest feedback and pursue continuous improvement.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, sales reporting, and financial analysis.
• Manage purchasing, inventory controls, food cost and labor optimization.
• Ensure cash handling, reconciliation and financial controls.
