University Dining at UW-Stevens Point is seeking a Director of University Dining to lead strategic direction, operations, and student-focused dining services across multiple locations. The role requires fiscal accountability, staff leadership, and strong collaboration with campus partners.

The Director will drive quality, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction while managing a diverse team of professionals and student workers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, food service management, business administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale food service, dining services, or auxiliary operations, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex environment.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proven leadership and staff development across diverse employee groups.
• Experience overseeing dining technologies, such as POS systems and menu management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with procurement processes, contract management, and purchasing policies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develops the unit budget and manages financial performance.
• Directs strategic planning initiatives and resource allocation.
• Oversees hiring, staffing, discipline, and performance management for 2.0 FTE and more.
• Leads menu development and pricing strategies.
• Liaises with internal and external stakeholder groups about the dining program.
• Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
