Job summary

Campbellsville University Dining Services is seeking dependable cooks to join our campus dining hall team, preparing high-quality meals for students, faculty, staff, athletic teams, and guests.

The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in great food, and works well as part of a team. Institutional or high-volume cooking experience is helpful, but we will train the right person with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food-service experience is preferred.
• Experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, school, healthcare, or institutional kitchen is a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and verbal or written instructions.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and production needs.
• Follow daily menus, production sheets, portion standards, and service times.
• Prepare proteins, vegetables, starches, soups, sauces, and other menu items.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain food quality, appearance, temperature, and portion consistency.
• Monitor food levels during service and prepare additional items as needed.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures.
• Properly label, date, store, cool, and rotate food products.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, prep work, and kitchen cleanup.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other dining team members.
• Help create a welcoming dining experience for students and campus guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
