Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Dining Service Assistant Manager to help lead the residence hall dining center, ensuring safe, appealing meals and high-quality service for students, staff, faculty and guests on campus.

You will oversee daily dining operations, supervise staff, and uphold food safety and cost controls, supporting a diverse university community in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or equivalent education/experience in food-related, business, or hotel/restaurant management field.
• Three years of food service experience with supervisory responsibilities in a high-volume commercial or Quick Service dining environment.
• Knowledge of cost controls, inventory controls and food safety/sanitation programs necessary.
• Must have ability to supervise food production, and excellent skills in customer relations, team building, and communications.
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.

Responsibilities

• The Dining Service Assistant Manager assists with the management and supervision of the overall operation of a university residence hall dining center.
• Provides a safe and inviting atmosphere, healthful meal choices, and quality service in an environment that promotes the diversity, growth, and education of our students, staff, faculty and guests.
