Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Dining Service Associate for the 12:30pm-9:00pm, Sun-Thurs shift in Lincoln, NE. This full-time role involves kitchen duties, food preparation, station setup, dish machine operation, and helping across dining center areas.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and at least one year of work experience; a Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• High School education plus one year experience in a work environment required; equivalency considered.
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary.
• Flexibility, teamwork and good communication required.
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs required.

Responsibilities

• Perform kitchen duties, including ingredient and food preparation, inventory, cooking and assembling recipes.
• Set up and tear down stations.
• Dish machine operations.
• Build recipes based on established processes, guidelines, and recipes.
• Monitor food quality, food presentation, and control food waste.
• Assist within other areas as needed and other duties assigned.
