Job summary

The University of South Alabama is hiring three Environmental Services Aide I positions on Main Campus to perform routine housekeeping and custodial duties. Work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, on-site at the Main Campus.

Candidates should be able to follow oral instructions and perform duties with regular and timely attendance. The roles are full-time and require ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine manual work performing housekeeping and custodial duties.
• Maintains terrazzo floors and carpeted areas by scheduling vacuuming with appropriate equipment.
• Cleans offices and classrooms including furniture, light fixtures, and chalk and dry erase boards.
• Replenishes chalk and empties all trash receptacles.
• Scrubs restroom areas, commodes, urinals, and lavatories.
• Applies deodorizers and germidical in proper areas.
• Refills soap dispensers and towel and tissue paper holders.
• Polishes mirrors and plumbing fixtures and cleans light covers as needed.
• Cleans all glass that can be reached by step ladder.
