Job summary

The University of South Alabama’s Central Housing department seeks an Environmental Services Supervisor. The role directs on-site custodial teams, ensures safety standards, and collaborates with Housing staff to maintain residence halls and common areas.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inspections, training, and collaboration with staff during peak move-in/move-out periods to ensure clean and ready living spaces for students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a directly related field.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record must meet university insurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day on-site supervision of custodial staff in Housing, including assigning duties and adjusting schedules.
• Provides training and coaching to new and existing employees on proper methods, safety procedures, and equipment use.
• Conducts regular inspections to monitor quality and effectiveness of custodial services.
• Performs administrative tasks including attendance records, supply inventory, and work orders.
• Informs supervisor of employee performance issues and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
• Participates in hiring and onboarding of new team members.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of residence halls, offices, and common areas.
• Cleans and services student living spaces including residence halls and apartments per standards.
