Job summary

Williams College is hiring full-time Custodians for its Facilities Department to maintain a safe and sustainable campus environment. The role offers 40 hours per week year-round with a schedule Monday–Friday, 5:30 am–2:00 pm, and eligibility for overtime and shift differentials on holidays and weekends.

Pay ranges from $20.75–$22.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Applications are reviewed immediately, with multiple openings across custodial teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in general cleaning, maintenance, carpet and floor care is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Ability to comply with standing instructions and safety rules for equipment and chemical usage.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and sanitizing dispensing units.
• Must have the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to utilize wearable equipment.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning throughout designated areas on campus.
• Light maintenance work.
• Snow shoveling in the winter.
• Bed making in the summer conference season.
• Other duties as assigned.
