Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook I at Gonzaga University. The role involves preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold items for all meals and events, following Sodexo’s standards for quality and safety.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and efficiency while supporting the dining program. This full-time position requires flexibility to work any shift; prior kitchen experience is beneficial, with opportunities for training and growth within the Sodexo

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meal periods and events according to culinary standards.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and workstation cleanliness in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Maintain accurate production and requisition records; assist with inventory and prep as needed.
• Significant walking or mobility; ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
