Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook I for a university dining program in Honolulu, HI. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meal periods and events, following Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, safety, and presentation.

In a fast-paced kitchen, you’ll help ensure products are prepared safely and efficiently, maintain a clean workstation, and contribute to strong kitchen teamwork and high dining experience standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of kitchen equipment and food-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards and regulations to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and directions for preparing, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate production needs and requisition supplies to maintain operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and safe food handling practices.
• Support team colleagues to deliver a quality dining experience.
