Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a part-time Cook at Saint Louis University. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items across meal periods, following Sodexo's culinary standards for quality, presentation, and safety in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities include following recipes, estimating production, and maintaining a clean workstation while contributing to a high-quality dining experience. Flexible schedule and benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving items.
• Taste products, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Attend shifts on time with satisfactory regularity.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
