Job summary

Portland Community College is seeking a part-time Classified position to organize and coordinate computer lab activities across multiple campuses. The role includes supervising student workers, managing equipment inventories, and enforcing safety and usage procedures for software and hardware.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma with two years of related study, plus experience in coordinating lab operations and customer-focused support for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of post-secondary education in a computer-related discipline.
• Two years of experience supporting computer laboratory activities or administrative staff coordination in a customer service environment.
• Experience leading staff and coordinating facility coverage.

Responsibilities

• Open and close computer labs ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Report maintenance problems as they occur.
• Enforce lab usage procedures and equipment handling.
• Oversee student helpers, training, scheduling and performance.
• Manage budget, payroll records, and inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain and inventory computers, software, printers and peripherals.
• Assist students and staff with access to technology and lab orientation.
