Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in the Computer Information Systems Department at the Sylvania Campus. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part‑Time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full‑term class assignments. As part of this application, you will be asked to list the current PCC courses you would be able to teach. Instructor Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or STEM‑related bachelor’s degree.
• Four (4) years full‑time equivalent non‑teaching industry experience in the field.
• Related Instruction: CIS120,121 and122 (include embedded related instruction in computation).
• In order to teach these courses, an instructor must have completed college‑level algebra or higher math.
• Official transcripts required to be submitted within 2weeks of the offer date. Transcripts must be from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent foreign institution. Transcripts from other countries will be evaluated by agencies with good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Compensation

• Newly hired Part‑Time Faculty will generally start at Step1 of the current salary schedule.
• Hourly rates determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). See the Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
