Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) is hiring a Cleaning Services Technician at Discovery House at University of Maryland to maintain cleanliness and safety across residential buildings and common areas. You’ll support waste & recycling operations, event support, inspections, and special projects while delivering high standards of service to residents and campus partners.

The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and a service-oriented attitude, with full benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of experience in housekeeping, custodial, facilities, hospitality, or residential community experience preferred.
• Must have troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Verbal communication skills, including reading comprehension.
• Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively to provide excellent service.
• Must have personal initiative for cleaning needs in the community.
• Must be punctual, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and perform cleaning tasks; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain residential common areas and shared spaces.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, vacuum, sanitize and disinfect interior and exterior areas.
• Clean carpets, windows, doors, and woodwork as needed.
• Transport trash and recyclables to disposal areas and maintain cleanliness of waste areas.
• Replenish cleaning supplies to keep facilities stocked and sanitary.
• Clean resident units and assist with turnover during move-in/move-out.
• Complete housekeeping checklists and schedules on time.
• Follow safety procedures and use required PPE.
