Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) is seeking a Cleaning Services Technician to maintain cleanliness and appearance of residential buildings and common areas at Discovery House at University of Maryland. You will handle cleaning, sanitation, waste collection, and event support to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and a service attitude, with opportunities to contribute to safety and sustainability

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
At least one year of housekeeping, custodial, facilities, hospitality, or residential community experience preferred.
Must have troubleshooting and communication skills.
Verbal communication skills, including reading comprehension.
Must be a team player and show initiative.
Must be punctual, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain residential common areas (hallways, stairwells, elevators, lounges, offices, restrooms, trash/recycling rooms).
Sweep, scrub, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize and disinfect interior/exterior areas.
Clean carpets, windows, blinds, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and woodwork.
Transport materials to trash/recycling dumpsters and maintain waste areas.
Replenish cleaning supplies to keep facilities stocked and sanitary.
Assist with apartment turnover and move-in/move-out cleaning as needed.
Complete housekeeping checklists and schedules on time.
