Job summary

Aerotek seeks a Chiller Operator I/II to manage and optimize large centrifugal chillers and campus cooling systems. The role emphasizes safe daily operation, routine inspections, and thorough documentation of maintenance activities across multiple campus buildings.

The operator will monitor chiller management systems, coordinate with operations and maintenance teams, and ensure water treatment and chemical testing support to maintain reliable chilled water service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience operating HVAC equipment.
• Graduation from an accredited HVAC technical school or equivalent hands‑on HVAC experience.
• Approximately 5 years of chiller operation in industrial HVAC environments.
• Working knowledge of centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, boilers and steam systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate centrifugal chillers (up to 2000 tons) and related equipment following relevant codes and standards.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the chiller management system and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support cooling tower water treatment controllers and related equipment for proper system performance.
• Perform daily rounds, document findings, and report abnormalities.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders with accurate documentation.
