Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Chiller Operator II for a major university campus in Atlanta, GA. You will operate large centrifugal chillers (up to 2000 tons) and support chiller plant equipment, water treatment, and safety standards.

Daily rounds, monitoring systems, and documentation are essential, along with coordinating with facilities teams to prioritize work orders and maintain reliable chilled water service across campus buildings. Shift: day, with a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years operating HVAC equipment.
• Prefer HVAC technical school graduate or equivalent hands-on HVAC experience.
• Approximately 5 years in chiller operation in industrial environments.
• Knowledge of centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, boilers and steam systems.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot chiller management systems and controls.
• Understanding of water treatment and chemical testing for systems.
• Familiarity with ASME and NFPA codes and standards.
• Willingness to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate centrifugal chillers and related equipment per codes and standards.
• Monitor chiller management system and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain cooling tower water treatment controllers and equipment.
• Perform daily rounds and document findings; report abnormalities.
• Support sampling and testing of system chemicals for proper water chemistry.
• Follow OSHA and other regulations; complete maintenance orders.
• Communicate clearly with operations and maintenance teams.
• Assist with equipment validation, utilities support and related tasks.
• Collaborate with zone supervisors to manage work orders across campus.
