Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Store Manager to lead our campus bookstore, drive sales, and deliver exceptional customer service within a vibrant college setting. You will manage store operations, supervise staff, and build relationships with students, faculty, and campus partners.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory retail experience or completion of the Best Seller Program, plus a Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Bachelor's in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
• Leadership experience to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives while achieving customer sales and service goals.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store in the daily operation, including financial results, merchandising, and customer service.
• Drive sales, leadership, customer service, team building, and problem solving.
• Supervise employees and departments; train, direct, and counsel team.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with campus community and Corporate Office partners.
• Ensure high standards of visual merchandising, inventory management, and scheduling.
• Maintain a safe and clean store environment and implement loss prevention measures.
