Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Store Manager to lead the campus bookstore, drive sales, and manage a team of sales associates and department managers. You will build strong relationships with students, faculty, and the campus community while ensuring excellent customer service.

The role requires supervisory retail experience, a business degree or equivalent, and the ability to train and develop staff, manage inventory, and partner with Corporate Office to achieve store goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Bachelors in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
• Leadership to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives while achieving customer sales and service goals.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead store operations and drive sales while managing campus relations.
• Supervise employees and departments, coach training and development.
• Ensure customer service standards and loss prevention.
• Maintain visual merchandising and inventory controls.
