Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, supervise team members, and deliver outstanding customer service to students and staff on campus. You will help drive sales, assist with scheduling and training, and collaborate with the Store Manager to meet store goals.

Responsibilities include leading teams, maintaining visual standards, handling cash and transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for the campus community.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a retail setting.
• 1+ year supervisory experience preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Support all store operations and departments in partnership with the Store Manager or General Manager.
• Supervise employees and direct training, scheduling, and team development.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to students, faculty and the campus community while driving sales and meeting goals.
• Assist with hiring and training new employees for the sales floor or other departments.
• Maintain an appealing sales floor and assist with processing sales transactions.
