Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and supervise staff in our campus bookstore. You will work closely with the Store Manager to deliver exceptional customer service, manage sales goals, and drive programs that engage students and faculty.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a retail setting.
• 1+ year supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support all store operations and departments in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and directing team members.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to students, faculty, and the campus community.
• Help the store meet or exceed sales goals and identify business opportunities.
• Motivate the team to create exciting product programs and initiatives.
