Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Temporary Building Automation Systems, Operator to monitor campus BAS, respond to alarms and coordinate technician dispatch from the central control room. The role also handles afterhours call center duties and emergency dispatch for maintenance issues.

Requires journey level HVAC BAS experience, strong computer skills, and a valid Texas driver license. This is a 40-hour per week, non-exempt, temporary position with a projected end date in March 2027 and

Qualifications

• Three (3) years Journey level experience in installation, repair, maintenance and operation of HVAC building automation controls, refrigeration, controls/operation, or related systems.
• Solid computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the campus Building Automation System (BAS) for proper operation of building mechanical systems and respond to alarm conditions; dispatches technicians as needed; maintains accurate work orders and keeps stakeholders updated.
• Analyses operational difficulties with building systems, performs troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques, and monitors the Fire Prevention System for maintenance alarms.
