University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Building Automation Systems, Operator to monitor campus BAS from a central control room and coordinate responses to alarms. You will serve as the after-hours call center for campus maintenance and dispatch personnel as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, HVAC experience, and basic computer skills. A valid driver’s license and driving record are also required, with substitution allowed for relevant education or experience.

Qualifications

• HVAC equipment experience and operation.
• Basic computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Record information and communicate effectively.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the campus Building Automation System (BAS) and responds to alarms.
• Analyzes facility issues and prioritizes proper responses.
• Assists after-hours call center; dispatches technicians as needed.
• Maintains clear communication with customers and updates work orders.
• Performs work independently per SOPs and troubleshoots building systems.
• Analyzes operating difficulties with diagnostics.
• Monitors Fire Prevention System alarms.
