Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Temporary Building Automation Systems, Operator in Facilities Services. This 40-hour per week role monitors the campus BAS from a central control room, analyzes alarms, and coordinates responses.

The position also serves as the afterhours call center for campus maintenance issues and dispatches technicians as needed. The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years journey-level HVAC/BAS experience, and solid computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Qualifications

• 3 years journey level experience in HVAC/building automation controls.
• Experience with HVAC equipment and operation.

• Record information and communicate effectively.
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Monitors BAS for proper operation of building mechanical systems and responds to alarms.
• Analyzes facility problems and coordinates proper responses.
• Handles afterhours call center phone operations.
• Dispatches technicians as needed.
• Responds to crisis situations when required.
• Creates accurate and informative work orders.
• Maintains communication with supervisors and customers.
• Communicates effectively with customers to understand needs.
• Runs reports and maintains historical logs.
• Performs tasks independently per SOPs.
