Job summary

Shenandoah Hospitality seeks a Campground Manager to lead complex campground operations in the Blue Ridge Mountains, delivering exceptional guest experiences while balancing safety, staffing, and budgetary discipline. Qualifications

• Five years of progressive multi-site management experience, including personnel, property and facility operations.
• Experience partnering with a public agency or managing a landlord/tenant relationship.
• Knowledge of company procedures, compliance requirements, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Personnel management experience, including recruiting, hiring, training, orientation, and employee relations.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, purchasing, human resources, public relations, emergency procedures, and safety compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgment and ability to make decisions, resolve conflicts, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office and general office equipment, with strong administrative, recordkeeping, and cash-handling skills
• Flexible, adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in an environment with extensive public contact.
• Ability and willingness to perform basic manual labor, including cleaning and sanitizing facilities, extended periods of movement, and occasional lifting of 25+ lbs.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid Driver's License, insurability through our motor vehicle carrier, and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all regular operations for the assigned permitted area and keeps the corporate officers informed of operational and logistical needs within their area of responsibility.
• Acts as a liaison between the Partnering Agency and the corporate office; attends regular meetings and coordinates services as required by contract.
• Collaborates with the Partnering Agency on interpretive programming and initiatives that enhance guest experience.
• Maintains a strong focus on guest experience, identifying opportunities to improve visitor satisfaction and engagement.
• Coordinates with Project Managers on improvement projects and initiatives to ensure effective planning and execution.
• Ensures compliance with applicable statutes and company standards; addresses deficiencies as needed.
• Understands and manages assigned portions of the operating budget and financial reporting to the General Manager.
• Oversees Site Managers and personnel, conducts regular site visits, and supports staff training.
• Addresses visitor complaints or incidents and takes appropriate actions to resolve them.
• Keeps corporate team informed of significant problems and performs other duties as assigned.
• Oversees recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervision of all personnel in coordination with HR and GM/AGM.
• Maintains controls for safeguarding assets, including inventory, equipment and facilities.
• Establishes capital expenditure budgets and secures competitive bids; manages subcontractors as required.
• Complies with government regulations relating to operation and maintains professional relationships with agencies and vendors.
• Ensures safety of guests and employees; trains staff on safety equipment and fire prevention programs.
• Monitors facilities daily to ensure a safe environment and maintains OSHA records.
• Performs additional duties as required.
