Job summary

Shenandoah National Park is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all HR functions across two park locations, supporting up to 400 employees. The role focuses on employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and benefits while partnering with site leadership to ensure consistent HR practices and a positive employee experience on-site.

The position requires on-site work at Shenandoah National Park, strong leadership, and a track record in high-volume HR operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR management experience in a high-volume, multi-site environment.
• Strong employee relations experience with sound judgment.
• Leadership and people-management skills to supervise and develop HR staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of employment laws in a multi-site environment.
• Willingness to work on-site with potential travel.
• Professional confidentiality and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HR programs, processes, and services across multiple sites for policy alignment.
• Lead employee relations and guide managers on workplace matters.
• Conduct confidential investigations with proper documentation.
• Lead recruiting and talent acquisition with site leadership.
• Support interviews for GM and department manager roles.
• Collaborate with HR Director on programs to strengthen the talent pipeline.
• Train and develop site HR staff and ensure effective onboarding.
• Maintain employee records, handbooks, and compliance materials.
• Provide benefits information and enrollment support.
• Coordinate with Payroll and Housing on compensation and housing.
• Manage workers’ compensation, unemployment, garnishments, and leave.
• Ensure ISO management systems are maintained and compliant.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
