Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve is seeking an IT Support Intern to provide front-line technical assistance to staff across the Summit, focusing on end-user support, printers, networks, and software troubleshooting. You will help with A/V setup for camp events, trainings, and programs.

Ideal candidates are comfortable with computers, can communicate clearly in English, and are willing to work evenings or weekends as needed. Housing and camp life logistics are provided as part of the internship.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+.
• Comfortable with computers and basic troubleshooting.
• Prior IT support or A/V experience is a plus but not required.
• Clear communication of technical concepts in plain English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams for daily work communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user technical support to staff, including troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and mobile device issues.
• Connect and configure printers and other peripherals for staff offices and program areas.
• Assist staff with downloading, installing, and configuring software and applications.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, escalating more complex problems as needed.
• Set up, test, and operate A/V equipment (sound systems, projectors, microphones, screens).
• Support network connectivity troubleshooting (Wi‑Fi, wired connections) across camp facilities.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership.
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook.
