Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV, is hiring for a full-time facilities and camp support role. You will perform cleaning, stocking, and prep for guests, maintain clean and safe areas, and assist with equipment and housing logistics in a fast-paced camp environment.

Comfort with Teams, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to undergo background screening are required. Housing in Staff Camp and a Summit Staff Uniform are provided; typical weekly hours are 45–55.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+ (16+ if able to commute).
• Able to obtain SBR driving permit during orientation.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Housing provided in Staff Camp; Summit Staff Uniform issued.
• Work hours: 45–55 per week.

Responsibilities

• Physical labor operations including cleaning, stocking, and preparation for guests and customers.
• Ensure work and customer areas are clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe.
• Ensure facilities and equipment are left clean and in good repair by both guests and staff.
• Power wash shower houses, sanitize, and stock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.
• Help clean and maintain all facilities and camp equipment.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership.
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook.
