Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV seeks team members to provide top-tier dining hall service and support kitchen operations. You will follow safety guidelines, handle meals, and help guests with dietary information in a Scout-centered environment.

Ideal candidates bring basic culinary skills and strong customer-service orientation; housing in Staff Camp may apply, with uniforms and work hours of 45–55 per week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic culinary skills preferred in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food prep and service.
• Support meal preparation by understanding menu items and ingredient handling.
• Communicate dietary restrictions and nutritional information clearly.
• Deliver excellent customer service by promptly responding to guest needs and requests.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions while maintaining professionalism.
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by SBR leadership.
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook.
