Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Camera Systems Engineer for advancing infrared camera systems within the Anduril Imaging team. You will collaborate with optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers to realize a single camera design that meets customer specs while balancing complexity.

The role emphasizes prototype testing, modeling performance metrics, and writing engineering code (MATLAB, Python) to control cameras, calibrate infrared sources, and log data. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a related technical field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with numerical modeling, preferably with radiometry and/or optics.
• Experience with data acquisition and processing with MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages.
• Familiarity with test automation and report generation concepts.
• Foundational understanding of root cause analysis principles for hardware, software, and firmware, with a desire to develop these skills further.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with camera assemblies and involving the integration of electrical, opto-mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive design convergence with multi-discipline teams to meet specs.
• Develop and maintain software for modeling, testing automation, data analytics, and reports.
• Conduct root cause analysis on prototype failures and create corrective actions.
• Generate clear test instructions and train technicians on equipment use.
• Analyze test data, document findings, and produce detailed defect reports.
• Contribute feedback to early-stage test design for NPI processes.
