Job summary

Grand Canyon University is seeking a part-time student employee to assist CAM with the Ethington Theater. The role involves set construction, welding, light focus/hang, and operating shop tools and machinery used in theatre construction.

You must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s or master’s program, maintain a 2.0 GPA (Bachelor) or 3.0 GPA (Master), and have a valid driver’s license. Anticipated end date is June 30, 2027, with employment at minimum wage.

Job description

Purpose within the Organization

The purpose of this position is to assist CAM with the Ethington Theater.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose
  • Set construction
  • Welding
  • Light focus/hang
  • Operating shop tools and machinery, including but not limited to woodworking tools, steel cutting and grinding tools, and electrical equipment
  • Equipment used and responsibility: Computer, Copier, Hand tools and Power tools, Table saw and chop saws – virtually any and all construction tools
  • Ladders and personnel lifts and climbing equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders and work at height
Qualifications
  • Student should have a working knowledge of basic construction, lighting, and tool usage.
  • Familiarity with theatre methodology is highly recommended.
  • Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record required.

  • You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
