Northside Veterinary Clinic in Brooklyn seeks a skilled Veterinary Receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. You will balance administrative precision with warmth, manage a high-volume front desk, and support the client experience in a clinical setting.

You will handle scheduling, medical record updates, payments, and clear communication with veterinarians and staff, including sensitive euthanasia discussions, in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software is preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and vaccination protocols is a plus.
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling and payment processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume client relations with composure.
• Comfort handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update records using practice software.
• Answer multi-line phone system; assist with appointment scheduling and prescription requests.
• Process payments, post charges, and explain invoices; schedule follow-ups.
• Communicate medical information and care instructions compassionately, including end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain accurate EMR and ensure timely data entry in the PIMS system.
• Coordinate with veterinarians and staff to relay client communications and flag urgent cases.
• Keep reception area clean and welcoming to ensure a positive client experience.
