Job summary

The Irvine Company is seeking a sales leader to oversee the California State Association market for Hotel Irvine. The role will drive large group bookings, manage existing accounts, and deliver exceptional guest services while pursuing profitability.

You will network with potential guests, coordinate with other departments, and adapt to non-traditional hours and travel as needed. Responsibilities include soliciting meetings, negotiating services, maintaining client relationships, and reporting

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of large group volume/convention hotel experience.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work non-traditional business hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Actively solicit business for meetings and events that require guest rooms with meeting space.
• Identify new ways to expand existing client base; source prospective leads and convert into bookings.
• Negotiate hotel services with guests to achieve maximum profitability while meeting the guests’ needs.
• Synergize with other departments to ensure quality to the guest and/or group satisfaction.
• Address and resolve challenges regarding bookings; inform Director of unusual circumstances.
• Maintain good relationship with new and existing clients in order to encourage repeat bookings.
• Analyze and report on sales and activities in relation to business plan.
• Attend and execute on requirements communicated in sales meetings.
• Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
