Job summary

  • Develop diagnostic calibrations that meet all regulatory, safety, quality and service requirements.
  • Assure that appropriate testing is defined, planned and completed to fully validate all diagnostic features.
  • Serve as the leader for leading cross-functional teams to determine root cause and solutions for development, fast feedback and customer vehicle diagnostic issues.
  • Work with a variety of conventional and electrified transmissions that require a diverse set of technical skills to effectively lead their assigned programs.
  • Guide instrumentation of electrical and physical systems, utilize and review data from acquisition software (INCA) to ensure that desired diagnostic behavior is achieved.
  • Gather functional requirements as well as required milestones to plan and execute development to achieve on-time successful product launches.
  • Travel 2-4 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Desire to work both in and out of test vehicles
  • Proficient using INCA, Matlab and Simulink/Stateflow
  • Understanding of the goals of On-Board Diagnostics
  • Experience with vehicle/control system calibration
  • Functional understanding of PID Control Systems
  • Functional understanding of Gas Engine operation
  • Functional Understanding of Gas Engine exhaust aftertreatment
  • Functional understanding of Transmission design and operation
  • Basic proficiency with the major purpose and components in an electrified propulsion system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen
  • Self-motivated/proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in OBD calibration, propulsion system component calibration, OBD or propulsion controls within the electric, gasoline or diesel industry
  • INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++ and Visual Basic experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Onsite position located in Chelsea, MI
  • Driving a company vehicle is required
  • Experienced drivers only - high performance driving/training is a huge plus
  • Up to 20% travel within the USA - Colorado, Arizona, California
