Powertrain Engine OBD Calibration Engineer
Job Summary:

Our client in Chelsea, MI is looking for a Powertrain Engine OBD Calibration Engineer. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

As a Transmission On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Calibration Engineer, you will develop diagnostic calibrations meeting all regulatory, safety, quality, and service requirements. You will define, plan, and complete testing to validate diagnostic features and lead cross-functional teams to resolve diagnostic issues. You will work with various transmissions, including conventional and electrified, requiring diverse technical skills. Your responsibilities include instrumentation, data review from INCA software, gathering functional requirements, and planning development milestones. Travel of 2-4 weeks per year within the USA is expected.

Basics:
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Willingness to work in and out of test vehicles
  • Proficiency with INCA, Matlab, and Simulink/Stateflow
  • Understanding of On-Board Diagnostics goals
  • Functional knowledge of transmission design and operation
  • Basic knowledge of electrified propulsion systems
  • Excellent communication and business skills
  • Self-motivated with leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
  • Experience with vehicle/control system calibration
  • Understanding of PID Control Systems, Gas Engine operation, and exhaust aftertreatment
  • Position is 100% onsite
  • Valid driver's license; vehicle driving required
  • Travel up to 20% within the USA
Preferred:
  • Master's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years' experience in OBD calibration and propulsion system controls
  • Experience with INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++, and Visual Basic
