Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to craft and finish cakes, tarts, and pastries, including special orders, while delivering exceptional customer service. You will decorate with advanced piping, color blending, and decorative techniques and support apprentices and team members in a fast-paced store bakery.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, following safety standards, and helping with opening/closing duties to ensure accurate signage and pricing.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness.
• Guide Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
