Job summary

Food City is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Food Service Associate to support our Fort Oglethorpe, GA store. You will assist in bakery operations, decorate cakes and pastries, handle cake orders, and keep displays neat and inviting.

This on-site position offers cross-training across departments, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to contribute to a positive team atmosphere while supporting daily store operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine tasks and have constant contact with customers and staff.
• On-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to time policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive, friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
• Greet customers and assist with orders in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Prepare and decorate cakes and pastries to meet expectations.
• Decorate cupcakes and cookies and maintain cake displays.
• Take telephone orders for foods and specialty cakes.
• Keep cookie and cake cases neat and well stocked.
• Rotate and date food service products to ensure freshness.
• Be cross-trained in multiple areas with varying responsibilities.
